Welcome to the Tri-County Intermediate School!
Welcome to Tri-County Intermediate Home page. My name is Katie Pearson, principal at Tri-County Intermediate (TCI) . I am so very lucky to be able to serve as the lead learner of the hard working and dedicated team that we have here at TCI. TCI consists of students that are in third grade through sixth grade. Because we are one-to-one with Chrombooks and have small class sizes, our teachers are able to immerse our students in opportunities to collaborate and engage content to deepen their understanding of the curriculum with the use of technology and small group hands-on instruction.The administration, staff, and community all work together to provide our students with a safe and loving atmosphere, while prioritizing the needs of each individual student. Our teachers work hard to use data they have collected from each student to drive their instruction and to try new teaching methods. The staff members keep looking for ways to improve themselves, their instruction and help their students. We embrace the idea…“We don’t look backwards very long. We want to keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we’re curious… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
The students of today must possess a wide range of skills such as working in teams/groups to learn effective communication skills, in addition to technology, and TCI’s curriculum and academic programs help prepare our students for future success, no matter what pathway they choose. We are a STEM Certified School allowing our students to plan and create projects that are focused on science, technology, engineering, art, and math, incorporating the Engineering Design Process across different subject areas. We have a variety of clubs such as Spell Bowl, Student Council, Battle of the Books, Robotics team, and various Sports Teams.
